Civics Week at Adult Education School 6 (March 9–13)! Our learners spent the week raising their voices, building civic skills, and showing what active citizenship looks like in action. Students participated in the Civics for All Poster Contest, exploring this year’s theme: “Voices Then & Voices Now (1776–2026)”. We hosted voter registration activities, Soapbox speeches, and civic learning experiences across our sites. Two of our learners even traveled to Queens Borough Hall to present their Participatory Budgeting project—showing how adult learners organize, collaborate, and advocate for real change. At the PS 13 Hub, students met with Deputy Borough President Kim Council, speaking powerfully about community issues like safety and transportation. Special thanks to our staff and our community partners for supporting our learners’ leadership and civic growth. Our students proved that civic engagement has no age limit—and their voices matter.
